Always wanted to draw a sci fi ship from my own imagination. My last attempt at drawing something completely original from my mind (pertaining to sci fi ships) ended up as a utter disaster [link] >_<. This time around I got enough confidence over the year to give it another go .
"While on a daily balloon trip, Twilight and her friends are blown of course by some ferocious winds. They only regain their senses to deafening roars of thunder and blinding flashes of light. Towering past their balloon, Twilight and her friends watch in awe as a ship forged for wars among the stars... descends upon the earth"
Edit: Just to avoid some confusion, those large energy producing objects are not engines but are long range energy weapons.
Homeworld the game 3D space RTS. Taidani ion cannon destroyer. You're design is rounder and larger, but the attenae and obviously the main weapons remind me of it.
Thanks! Been playing around more with lighting these days. I used to be so afraid of lighting and especially colour. Now its just becoming more and more fun. I see you got new stuff as well !
Ahh so that is the guy who drew a good portion of my childhood sci fi ships. When I was like 7 years old, I stumbled upon this book that contained all the various sci fi ship artists of the 80s and early 90s. I was entranced by the worlds and vessels that they painted, and wanted to do something like that as well. Haha.. needless to say, the drawing abilities of a 7 year old weren't the best. But thanks for giving me the name of Peter Elson, thought I would never see those ships again.
