"As turbo lasers, Pesgasi, and Wonderbolts littered the horizon, a imposing Imperial Class Star Destroyer lumbers slowly towards the sky city of Cloudsdale.
And there at the center, amidst this sea of chaos, danced and twirled the Princess of the land with a fearsome Defender of an empire. Streaks of colour and lights lashed out at each other. The citizens of Cloudsdale and Equestria could only look on in awe and wonder, while their fate and dreams stood at the precipice of disaster and hope."

So I was thinking what would go well with a sunset? Why not cloudsdale... that would be a lovely view. But as I kept drawing I thought to myself, why not... lets throw in a Star Destroyer for funs sake. It all then just snowballed from there with the end being a intense duel between Celestia and the TIE Defender.
Cloudsdale in particular gave me a lot of trouble with its swirls, roman es structures strewn everywhere, and trying to give it depth with its shades of various blue.
Anyway, I'm glad a lot of you guys enjoy it! And surprised you know what ships these are too! oh and see if you can spot pinky pie!
My little pony: Friendship is Magic is created by Lauren Faust and property of Hasbro
I get the feeling that Impstar's gunners are just letting the Celly/Defender duel play out for shits, giggles & betting before they get down to business. 'Business' being the retina-greening vaporization of every atmospheric structure in the vicinity at once.
The biggest critique I have is of the picture's centerpiece, Celestia. Her head has an odd shape to it, which gives the appearance that she's pursing her lips. Combined with the energy beam next to her, it looks like she's fighting Imperial starships by blowing on them. It keep taking me out.
Nice to see Celestia actually doing what she should do, instead of sending mane 6 every time, come on, mane 6 are glass canon, they can hit hard but they can die easy, Celestia is balance between offensive and defensive, same for Luna, so what is better then small flying pony with fire power of super bomber and agility of tiny fighter to deal with Star Destroyer.
Then again, apparently pegasi wings are razor sharp (if the way they cut through Spike's, er, spikes was anything to go by). Maybe they have a better chance than my initial impression.
Closing thought: my first thought was, "Two pegasi against a Star Destroyer?" "The Friendship Cannon will fire several shots to make sure any enemy ships are out of your flight path. When you've gotten past Shining Armor's shield proceed directly to Canterlot. Understood?"
